In and out
Every movement is recorded and the remaining quantity stays current.
Material Stock
Record material in and out, keep lot and expiry information, and get a warning when stock drops to a critical level.
Keep production running
In a lab, running out of material means not just cost but late delivery. In Clineo Lab every material’s ins and outs are recorded, with lot number and expiry date kept. An item that drops below the critical level you set raises a warning.
The problem on the floor
Lab material runs out more sneakily than a clinic’s. A block or powder used on several jobs in a row goes down faster than expected. A box that looks full on the shelf may be empty after the three zirconia jobs that came in that week.
The price of running out is not the material’s price. Production stops, the delivery date slips and a delay arises that you have to discuss with the clinic. If it happens twice in the same week, the clinic gives its next job to another lab.
Lot and expiry date are a separate matter. When a problem arises with a batch of material, you need to be able to find which jobs it was used in. If this is not recorded on receipt, it cannot be worked out later; all that remains is trying to remember one by one.
